As
the years go by, newer innovations come about and are introduced to us in a new
light, but has been reformed in some way. Some of these new innovations that
have been prospering over the years has been Netflix and Hulu. Netflix started
out as just a on demand DVD rental business, such as Blockbuster. At the time
there was rivalry, but in the end Netflix became even more advanced and put
Blockbuster out of business. Going from just a DVD rental to an online
streaming service. They created subscriptions, gaining over millions of loyal customers
and rebranding nationwide. Netflix adopted to the times and saw that there
needed to be change, as the years went by they continued to improve their brand
and grow from the bottom, being the highest-paid streaming service ever. Alongside
Netflix came Hulu, another streaming service that grew and rebranded over the
years, adapting to the environment of our times. Hulu started out as just a
regular ad streaming service, streaming television shows and old movies. As the
service grew, the company introduced Hulu Plus, which featured full seasons of
shows and ad free viewing. Many people loved this new idea. Hulu was a great innovation
because it contained many of the world’s favorite television series, all in one
place. Some downsides to both of these streaming services were that many other platforms
began to catch on and do the same. Doing so, both platforms lost customers to
the other platforms that was either more affordable or provided better content.
